Greetings everyone!

First off, like to apologize, to everyone, who was a member ever or still is, for that matter,...as I personally let a lot of you all down and aware of how it impacted all of us.

After the master servers going off-line and no clan tags for many years, it is a great thanks to Thyth, for his effort in making it all possible again, for us all.

Clan tags have been back for some time, and after announcing plans for a competitive challenge and being ridiculed and accused of fraudulent intentions and then chastised and accused of hacking by teratos over the use of the JSON Authentication, for implementing clan tags, and being banned from SCP by mistycane...well, able to play on server now and be part of the game again.

So, with that said, let's get to it.

Looking for any and all of our members to rejoin and any new members, interesting in joining, to put our tag on.

Like to see if, we can get 12 or so members over the next few months and start having a little get together each week and challenging any of the free agents and other clans, who are up for a challenge, for a few matches each month, for fun.

Going to throw this out there now, so does not catch anyone off guard, considering holding a tourney with some prizes offered, and possibly cash, as a incentive to flush some more players out of the woodwork and bank into the game.

Missed many of you and seeing comrades without the tag now, is saddening in many ways, and certainly like everyone to know, they are more than welcome to join, and if we ever had an issue before, hope we can let it go and focus on just having fun now and being family again.

For those of you who have not hassled about joining, will not name you by name here, as some of you know who you are and others, were not ever in the clan and have been enjoying our nightly pub action, thoroughly.

If anyone needs help, on how to get clan tags, feel free to ask here or in game...there is a thread here in the forums, with the file, required to have client-side, for the tag to show.

finding games and players?

Howdy folks. When I discovered last week that this game was still playable, with servers running, I almost peed my pants with excitement. But of course, as others have pointed out, we're a far cry from the day when I would hit refresh over and over again on my favorite servers, hoping to snag a slot when someone dropped out.

Are there particular times, servers, etc. when I'm more likely to find a good game? I probably don't have the ability to commit to playing at specific times, but if there's a known time/day when people tend to be online, I'd love to join in.

I first started playing tribes with Starseige Tribes (T1). My older brother was an avid player of T1 then and he showed it to me and I was hooked. I played T1 for HOURS on end. To the point of frustration for my older brother who I was living with at the time. We shared a single computer then.

Then Tribes 2 is announced and I nearly shit a brick in anticipation. I had it the day it was released. My obsession with Tribes 1 paled in comparison to my love of Tribes 2 then. I was young, about 18, at the time. Now, I'm 30 and I have not played T2 in many years. I tried installing it once on my old computer about a year or 2 ago but had trouble and gave up before I really got to play. I have now reinstalled T2 via TribesNext.com on my new computer and I am loving it again.

Although my skill level has severely diminished in the years during my absence, I still play.. Death after death, loss after loss. I don't care. I love this game. I have been playing this time for about a week or so and I am showing improvement.

The reason for my post is not to outline my Tribes lineage but to ask a simple question: Where are all the players?

Tribes 2 is STILL an awesome game. One, that in terms of playability and flexibility, out performs even the latest games on the market. In the week I have been playing I have noticed a little trend or pattern with regard to the activity in the game.

Snap Crackle Pub seems to be the most popular public server right now. Most of the time when people are playing they are playing on SCP. There are other servers but SCP seems to take most of the attention outside of tny servers. I remember playing T2 and getting furious because my favorite servers were FULL. I would sit there sometimes just constantly refreshing the server waiting for someone to drop out and then I would frantically click the Join Game button trying to take their spot in the game.

I remember when the server list was a list you could SCROLL and you almost HAD to use filters to find the server you wanted if it wasn't favorited.

I think T2 can become great again.

I haven't seen anything in the way of a social presence for T2. Meaning I haven't seen any real facebook or twitter presence. I know that this is a freeware game now and like Legions and Urban Terror it might be just one of those games you find only when you're looking for it. I would like to see Tribes 2 be different. I would like Tribes 2 to stand out.

Is there a group handling this aspect of internet presence for Tribes 2? If not, I would love to help in that regard. The more people that see the name Tribes 2 the more people will want to try it and the more that try it the more long-term players we will have. This will lead to more servers, too.

I think if we can do this right it would have a snowball effect. Tribes 2 may never top any Top 10 games list but it sure as hell can be super popular again.

Just thought I would share a thought I was having. What do you all think?

Bunch of us vets were BETA testing Tribes: Ascend, and well...they got it wrong. There is a discussion about why the original is better than the new game and why they need to make load outs the way they are supposed to be rather than the way the are trying to make them. Anyway I was hoping to put together a quick and dirty Human v Derms game on Saturday at 6pm(PST) is this doable? is there a server that would consider hosting this for us? Please let me know.

Did any siege players live to see the new life of T2? (Cobra INC For those that might remember)... I have been keeping a watchful eye on the pond, despite it's "classic" nature, and I have seen little or no activity. Which is a shame for certain, I do hate CTF... and I hate classic... but there's nothing I hate more then CTF on classic, the problem being... My love for T2 offsets My hate of where I have to go to get that fix. (Would love to see a V2 siege server, but that's a wish for another night) Right now I just wanted to know, how many siegers persist out there... I have seen a few old faces I remember from pond pubbing, but not many.. then again many may have new titles... Myself included (though technically Severeign was always the account name, but apparently with the rebirth it is my login, and warrior name!)

We will be playing server side maps, however if you drop please download the dynamix final map pack, found here.

The siege gametype involves taking down enemy assets (usually generators) in order to gain access to a switch. There are generally two rounds, one team defends while the other attacks. The winner is the team which is able to capture the switch in the shortest amount of time.
